Unusual French hat block

This would have been used by a milliner to shape and form hats . The top section comes off so that the base can be used for different shapes and styles.This one is an unusual shape .. a bit more elegant than normal. Fabulous to display a treasured hat , a wedding tiara or just as it is .. quirky and wonderful. There is a piece out of the wood as shown but this is only visible from underneath.
